Red 14, White 13 — Final
The game ended with a 20-yard completion from KJ Jackson to Antonio Jordan on the sideline, the staff decided to call the game.
Quincy Rhodes could have been credited with a sack on the play, too, but there is no live tackling.
KJ Jackson also had a 17-yard completion to Jordan on the drive. The redshirt freshman from Warren was one of the offensive standouts from the scrimmage.
Stay tuned here at WholeHogSports.com for a recap of the scrimmage that will include unofficial stats.
Red 14, White 13 — 2Q (untimed)
Cam Settles capped a nice drive for the White team with a 7-yard rushing touchdown. The drive started at midfield and featured a long completion from AJ Hill to Jamari Hawkins while facing third-and-16 after a sack.
White attempted a 2-point conversion but a bad snap ruined the play.
Red 14, White 7 — 2Q, 0:00
A drive ended for the Red team with Steven Soles recording his second sack of the scrimmage, this one a 7-yard sack against Braeden Fuller.
Courtney Crutchfield had an 8-yard completion to tight end Jaden Platt on a flea flicker during the drive. TJ Hodges also had a 7-yard run for a first down.
Soles' sack came with the Red team facing third-and-5 from midfield.
Red 14, White 7 — 2Q, 2:45
Cade Trotter and the White team went three-and-out with a pair of incompletions sandwiching a 6-yard keeper.
Red 14, White 7 — 2Q, 3:23
KJ Jackson hit CJ Brown for a 65-yard touchdown on the first play of a drive. Brown caught it coming across the field around the White 35, then did the rest himself sprinting down the sideline for the score.
White 7, Red 7 — 2Q, 3:51
AJ Hill began a drive with an 11-yard completion to tight end Ty Lockwood, but a second-and-5 sack set the drive back. Chris Marshall had a drop on third-and-11.
White 7, Red 7 — 2Q, 6:08
AJ Hill threw a pick-6 on the first play of a drive. The interception was by Nsongbeh Ginyui, a transfer from Bakersfield College.
Hill's pass was intended for Chris Marshall, who has been his favorite target today.
White 7, Red 0 — 2Q, 6:18
KJ Jackson has struggled with his accuracy today.
The Red team just went three-and-out again after a 1-yard rush by Jasper Parker, a 5-yard completion to CJ Brown and a third-down incompletion by Jackson looking for Brown again.
White 7, Red 0 — 2Q, 7:41
Cade Trotter led the White team on a 14-play, 58-yard drive that ended with a fourth-down incompletion intended for tight end Gavin Garretson from the Red 12.
It was an overthrow from Trotter, who was up and down with his accuracy on the drive. He had a 10-yard completion to Cam Settles and a 14-yard completion to Blair Irvin on third down. Irvin did a great job toe-tapping the sideline on the grab.
Settles has been one of the standouts from the scrimmage so far. He's been active in both the pass and run game.
White 7, Red 0 — 2Q, 13:23
Braeden Fuller had a quick three-and-out drive for the Red team, which featured a "sack" by Steven Soles on second down. There is no live tackling of quarterbacks, but Soles was in the area to make coaches blow the play dead.
White 7, Red 0 — 1Q, 0:00
AJ Hill capped a 12-play, 75-yard drive with a quarterback keeper from the 1 for a touchdown.
Other notable plays from the drive included a 17-yard pass from Hill to Marshall, an 11-yard completion from Hill to Donovan Faupel on fourth down and a 12-yard rush by Cam Settles that got the White team into first-and-goal.
Settles had four runs for 36 yards on the drive.
The staff kept the clock at 0s in the first quarter for a while, but it appears they are transitioning to the second quarter now.
Red 0, White 0 — 1Q, 0:00
KJ Jackson orchestrated a nice drive that featured a completion of 16 yards to Jasper Parker and of 17 yards to Antonio Jordan.
But facing a third-and-6 at the White 22-yard line, Jackson overthrew a wide-open CJ Brown in the end zone. Braeden McAlister missed a 40-yard field goal wide right.
True freshman running back TJ Hodges had four carries during the 11-play drive, including a 7-yard gain.
They have kept the first quarter clock at 0s for a while now.
Red 0, White 0 — 1Q, 8:58
Braylen Russell rattled off a 13-yard rush on the White team's first play and AJ Hill had an 11-yard completion Chris Marshall on a third-and-4 to get into Red territory.
But the White team couldn't get any further due to a pair of incompletions, including a drop by Marshall on third-and-9.
Red 0, White 0 — 1Q, 12:30
KJ Jackson started off the game with a 13-yard pass to CJ Brown for a first down, but the Red offense sputtered after that.
After a first-down incompletion, a pair of short completions forced a punt facing a fourth-and-6.
Pregame
Arkansas football is set to get its Red-White spring game underway at 2 p.m. inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
There will be no TV broadcast or live stream of the game, following a recent trend in college football where many programs have either eliminated the spring game, significantly altered its format and/or not televised it.
It will be broadcast on radio affiliates of the Razorback Sports Network, though it is not clear which ones. Arkansas baseball plays at Missouri simultaneously, and many affiliates carry both football and baseball games.
Quarterbacks will be off limits for the live-tackling game, which will feature a pair of 15-minute quarters in the first half, followed by a second half with situational work the Razorbacks' staff wants to work on.
The rosters were released earlier this week and the teams appear evenly balanced. Take a look at the rosters here.
We'll have updates from the game as they become available.
