RAW DEAL Tommy Fury in talks for ring return after dad John enjoys sushi lunch with Misfits Boxing boss

TOMMY FURY is in talks to make his return to the ring – after dad John sat down with the Misfits Boxing boss over a spot of sushi lunch.

Fury beat YouTube’s biggest boxing stars in Jake Paul and KSI in 2023 – but he underwent a hand surgery that kept him out of action until last May.

He beat little-known Bosnian Kenan Hanjalic in his low-key comeback fight in Bulgaria over six rounds but is yet to fight since.

But SunSport can reveal Fury was due to do so THIS WEEKEND in Derby – but the bout fell through.

Mams Taylor, who co-founded Misfits with KSI in 2022, told us: “There’s some stuff going on…

“Don’t let me spoil any announcements, but I think it’s time we see Tommy Fury back in the ring soon.

Fury was set to face Darren Till in January 2025 – but he pulled out after the ex-UFC star threatened to KICK him in the face.

As a result, he still owes Misfits – the home to celebrity-style crossover bouts – a fight.

But relations between Misfits and the Fury family are good – with promoter Taylor meeting with Fury’s dad and trainer John for lunch.

He said: “I’m in touch with his team quite frequently and I think Big John and I have a good relationship.

“Last time I saw him we had a very funny sushi lunch. We had quite a lot in common.

“I mean I get along with everyone that’s my job as well, to make sure I try to be accommodating, to make the fans happy and put on the best, most entertaining fights I can.”

Misfits were due to host a big event in Qatar – planned for April – but the ongoing air attacks in the Middle East look to have prevented that.

Taylor said: “Obviously it’s a sensitive time.

“The last thing you want to do is bombard people when they’re in fear and in shock of what’s going on, we want to be sensitive to that.

“So we’ll just watch and see what happens. Sometimes plans have to change through things that we cannot control.

“So lets see what happens, but we’re working on it.”
