Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just over a month away from its upcoming UFC 319 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, headlined by the middleweight title fight pitting reigning 185-pound champion, Dricus Du Plessis, against No. 3-ranked division contender, Khamzat Chimaev. The action goes down on Sat., Aug. 16, 2025 at United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Just don’t expect this lightweight banger to serve as the UFC 319 co-main event.
Du Plessis (23-2) captured the middleweight crown with a decision victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 297, then submitted Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 before defeating Strickland for a second time at UFC 312. As for Chimaev (14-0), he returned from a self-imposed medical layoff to crush former middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker, at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi.
